How can I back up my media library?

    I have transferred to wp.org, but they said in order for my media library to be transferred, I need wp.com to back it up and send me a link so I can download it.

    Please could you do this for me?

    Hi Alex!

    When you export your WordPress.com blog, the image URLs are automatically included in the export file.

    Export Your Website’s Content

    Then, when you import the XML file into your self-hosted site, the importer pings the URLs individually and moves the images into your self-hosted media library.

    In short, you shouldn’t need to do anything else for your media files to be imported. One note, when you import the files on your self-hosted site, you’ll see an option for “Download and import file attachments”. You’ll want to make sure that’s checked when you run the import.
