How Can I Better Customize the Emails Subscribers Receive from Me?

  I’d like to customize the email that subscribers receive from my blog, brand it with our logo and most importantly change the Sender information from WordPress to my name so that recipients recognize it’s from me. I thought this would be a simple settings task, but I’ve searched and can’t seem to find where to make this type of change – HELP! :)

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Never tried it but take a look at feedburner – I think they let you customize what your email to subscribers has in it.

  feedburner would require that I had my own url, yes? I’m trying to only keep the free wordpress blog –

  is there another widget you know of that would allow me to do this? maybe i’m just using the wrong widget?

  This is not a case of widgets. There is only one blog subscription widget. The ONLY customization options we have are stated here (scroll to the bottom)> http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/blog-subscription-widget/

  WordPress.com message – Enter a message to display to WordPress.com users. This will only be displayed when the user is logged in. The user will see this message followed by a subscription button.

  Non-WordPress.com message – Enter a message to display to non-WordPress.com users. This will only be displayed when the user is not logged in to WordPress.com. The user will see this message followed by an email field and subscription button.

  So there’s no way to set things so my email subscribers only receive a partial post? When they receive the full post, there’s no reason for them to ever visit my blog.

  Dashboard >>Setting >> Reading >> For each article in a feed, show Summery

  Your feed will go out as a Summery not a whole Post

  If you use a theme which has a working excerpt function, you should be able to customize your feed a bit, and also email subscriptions.

  Pressrow will show excerpts in category and archive pages.
