How can I by pass paying the late fee?
-
Hi,
WordPress is trying to charge me A $108 late fee for renewal of my domain name.
I was not notified that my domain will be or was expired. How can I get wordpress to waive this fee?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your domain expired 22 days ago which means it is now outside of grace period, and is in redemption period.
$80 of those $108 is charged by domain registrar, not WordPress.com, so WordPress.com has no control over that fee and hence they won’t be able to waive it off.
If you don’t wish to pay that fee, you can wait until your domain is release but there is no guarantee that you will be able to reclaim it. You can read more about domain release process here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/#domain-released

Hi,
Thank you for your response. If I don’t want to pay that fee, how do I revert my website URL to samanthawyap.wordpress.com?
Right now when I go to that URL, it still sends me a notification that my domain has been expired.
Thanks

Try to set the primary domain to samanthayap92.wordpress.com by following these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#setting-the-primary-domain

Hi,
I tried to do that with samanthawyap.wordpress.com and samanthayap92wordpress.com vice versa. But the ‘domain expired’ page still keeps popping up.
How do I get wordpress to remove it.
Best,
Samantha -

I am not seeing that domain associated with your account any longer and I do not see the pop up. Has it been removed?
