How can I cancel a domain?

  • Unknown's avatar

I made a transition from a unique domain to a WordPress domain and on the new WordPress domain a black overlay still comes up every time someone visits the site that says that the old domain has not been paid for. How can I remove this overlay and cancel the old domain. Any assistance is appreciated.

    Hello,

Did you cancel the domain by logging in to the my upgrades section of your blog?

If not, you can cancel your domain by visiting this link: https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades/

If you did that manually, and if the error still persists, you may have to directly contact WordPress.com staff, who will help you to cancel your domain.

Additionally, I have tagged this post for staff support. If your issue is not yet resolved, a WordPress.com staff member will be here to help you cancel the domain. Please subscribe to this thread by clicking the ‘Subscribe to topic’ link on your right sidebar, to get yourself notified by any posts from WordPress.com staff.

  • Hi there,

I see that the domain address is under an account different from the one you are contacting us with. To verify account ownership, can you contact me from the username associated with arcadiaphysicsteam.org?

Once I am contacted from that account, I would be happy to assist you into removing the overlay from the front page.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
