How can I change a posts title image?

    Hi folks,
    I’m new to this wordpress blogging thing, so bear with me.

    I am using the Oxygen theme, and have create a couple of categories, and have subsequently created some posts in those categories.

    In some posts I have added an image, and that image has been used (cropped) as the title image that accompanies the posts title in the category page.
    If no image is in the post, no title image goes with the posts title in the categories page. All there is is a white rectangle.

    I did some net searching, but I don’t really think I am searching for the right words/phrases, and therefore haven’t had any luck thus far.

    If anyone knows how to post an image to the posts title, for it to show in the list of posts in the categories page, please gimme some kind of instructions. It’d also be nice to change the ones it has assigned, but I might be able to work that out from the other instructions.

    I sort of found an answer, but it requires ftp access which isn’t available here at the WP.com site.

    I think I might need to be asking about “post thumbnails”, as a few hits have come up with that search string that seem to relate to what I am looking for.

    So is it possible to adjust, move, choose, re-crop post thumbnails?

    No it is not and Themes Staff have said so previously but I don’t have time to search through all the Oxygen threads and prove that to you https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/oxygen

    I’ll take your word for it. As I said I was struggling to find anything related to the ‘.com’ site.

    I think I am beginning to understand the differences better between pre-installed and managed WordPress.com and a free hosting which allows WordPress (.org) installation.

    The “title image” frame displays the middle portion of the image (if the image isn’t in the right dimensions). You can’t adjust this, but you certainly can choose which image to show: a post will display the first image you upload from your computer via the Add Media tool of that post, or the image you set as a featured image via the Featured Image module of the post editor.
