How can I change my gravatar image

  What size is needed so that it looks good and how does one change it?

  Howdy,

  You can change your Gravatar image at http://gravatar.com and login using your WordPress.com username and password.

  Ideally, you’d want a square image. We’ll use anything from 2048px by 2048px, but the most typical size used is 80×80. Bigger is better, but anything over 80px by 80px at a minimum should look good in most situations.

  I’ve seen a couple that are circular rather then square or rectangular. How did they do that?

  That’s based on the theme. The gravatar itself is still square, but the theme or program using the gravatar is artificially creating a circular border around the image that’s wide enough to trigger that effect.

  For example, we actually use that effect on the software we use internally to respond to your questions, so your gravatar appears circular to me: https://cloudup.com/c9O2E37X7LC
