How can I change my security settings with a backup code (not google auth code)?
-
I needed to reset my iPhone, and neglected to create a new Google authenticator for my wordpress account. I can access my account to post new content using a backup code, but when I try to access the settings menu, I get the message:
“For security reasons, you can only edit user settings while logged in with a Two Step Authentication code.
Please logout, then log back in with your Master Password and authentication code to continue.”I tried once more with the next Backup Code, but the same message appears. I cannot even disable two-factor auth, and then try to create a new google authenticator for my phone.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

This is the same problem I have been having and I haven’t been able to find a solution either

Very strange. I tried again by logging out and closing the browser, then entered the next backup code. This time I was permitted to access the settings, turn off my 2 step auth, (this required the next code on the list) and then I was able to set up a new Google Auth.
So, I’m back in.
Thanks
