  I would like to change the address of my blog – how can I do that? now it is http://www.painternc.wordpress.com

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I’m sorry but that toll has been temporarily disabled.

  The name change tool is currently unavailable, but it is being reviewed this week to see if we can add it back. In the mean time, we can walk you through steps to update those kinds of things manually with workarounds if you are interested in that. To do it, you would need to log out and create a brand new account http://en.wordpress.com/signup/ if you wanted a new username. To change a blog name, you could create a new blog with the name you want and then transfer the content from the old blog to the new one with the Tools → Export and Tools → Import pages. Note that you would need to re-create settings like blog title, theme choice, and widgets manually.

  I do apologize for posting the wrong response above. The change blog address AKA change blog URL tool have also been temporarily disabled.

  You can purchase a domain name and domain mapping upgrade and then it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com sub-domian name is.
