how Can I change the background to image T_T

  hi ,, please help me T_T
  how Can I change the background to be an image?
  i read alot about that and i know alittel about css
  thay all saied that i have to change it from css >> body > background
  like this body {
  font: 62.5% ‘Lucida Grande’, Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif; /* Resets 1em to 10px */
  color: #444;
  >> background: #EDEDED;
  text-align: center;
  margin: 0 0 30px;
  }
  and that i shold delet the color code and but ” url(images/background.jpg) ” and the “background” that i shold uplode it .. is that correct .. or there is another thing i have to do .. cuz this way didnt work for me so i think i did something wrong or there is somthing missen .. so … any ideas ? and please explain the details cuz i am now on this but i will tray evry thing ..

  *Is there a particular type of image?
  *Where do I put the picture that I want to become a background?
