How can I change the color, and the size, of the font in the BODY of "About"?
-
Hi,
I am trying to reach the CSS Customization forum.
How can I change the color of the font in the body of my “About” page and my blogs? How can I change the size of the font, in those areas, too?
I have the Sunspot Theme. I purchased the Custom Design program. I have figured out how to change the colors and the font of the headings and titles, etc., but, I still cannot find how I can change the color of the font in the body of my “About” page. It is currently gray and I would like to have it black or white, so that it will show up over my photo colors. I would, also, like to enlarge the font. How can I do that?
Thank you for your help!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are two ways. One is on a per post basis, and the other is by using custom CSS rules. I’ll go over the 2nd one with you.
To change the font color for just the body content for posts and pages in the Sunspot theme, you can add this to your Appearance > Custom Design > CSS editor:
.entry-content{ color: #ffffff; }You can change out the color code to another one if you’d like:

You can use the ‘font-size’ attribute in CSS. Here’s more info. if you’re interested:

.entry-content{ font-size: 1.2em; }Adjust the “1.2em” value as needed.

Hi designsimply, Thank you for your help! I, really, appreciate your time. You seem to know about the Sunspot theme. Perhaps you can answer another question for me. Is there a way to create space between the different posts, in the “Recent Posts” section, so that there is definition between each post? As it is, now, it all of them seems to run together, visually, although when the cursor is run over the area the different posts are underlined, so that they can be clicked on. But, I would like to have each post appear to be separate, if possible.
Thanks, Delores -

Sure! Try adding this to your Appearance > Custom Design > CSS editor:
.widget ul li { margin: 1.2em 0; }Adjust the “1.2em” value as needed.
In the future, would you mind please starting a new help request for separate questions, even if they’re about the same theme? It makes it easier to do support. :)

Hi designsimply, Yes, will start new help request in future. I put .widget ul li {
margin: 1.2em 0;
} in the CSS (adding it to the bottom of the other changes and nothing happened. Then, added it to the top and, still, nothing happened. How do I adjust the “1.2em” value?
Thanks -
Are you sure you saved the change? I don’t see it at Appearance > Customize > CSS editor. Can you try saving it again?
The “1.2em” value means to make the spacing (the top and bottom margin) around the elements in the Recent Posts widget on the right about 120% of the normal font value. You can adjust the “1.2” part to change how much space gets added.

I saved it, but, it did not change the spacing between posts of “Recent Posts”. It did not do anything to those posts. But, it did alter my previous revisions, so that the main body posts, and my “About Ishi” and “About Me”, went back up into my photograph that I have at the top. I prefer to have the posts below the photograph, in the gray background where they are more easily seen and read. So, I went back and reset the previous revision to where I wanted it. I like the look very much, except that the posts for the “Recent Posts” are too close together, for my taste.
Just for my information===

Does that mean that the font size will be become larger or smaller? I don’t want to change the size of the font, I just want to drop each post a little lower than the post before it, so that it will look like different paragraphs.

Let’s take this only one step at a time. I want to make sure saving is working properly for you first.
I checked here:
https://ishidee.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?#cssAnd ths code is not saved there:
.widget ul li { margin: 1.2em 0; }Are you sure you added it? Did you add that entire code example below your other code and save — and saving doesn’t work for you? If so, can you verify what browser/browser version you are using for me?

Hi simplydesign, I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. Thank you, so much, for your kindness and your help. At the moment, I have decided to leave my blog alone, and work with it as it is, until I can devote the time needed to work on it. There has been so much going on, in my life, that I am very overwhelmed and behind in everything. I need to catch up. If I decide that I want to pursue the “Recent Posting” spacing, at a later time, after I have caught up with my responsibilities, I will come back and ask for your help (if I may). Thank you, again, for your patience and willingness to assist me. ishidee

Content first! would be my advice. :)
But definitely come back when you’re ready to dive back into customizing with CSS too. :)
