How can I change the name of my blog while keeping both domain names?
-
I created a blog at let’s say nameone.wordpress.com. I then set up a twitter account under @nametwo as I thought it was a better fit for the subject matter. I now want to change the name of my wordpress blog to nametwo.wordpress.com but keep the nameone.wordpress.com address for other projects.
I thought I would have to transfer my blog to a new domain so created one under nametwo.wordpress.com. I then realised that I could have just changed the first domain name. However, I now find myself in the situation that I can’t do this as the name I want (nametwo.wordpress.com) has been taken (by me!) If I delete the nametwo address, then apparently I won’t be able to ever use it again (why is this?)
So, I would like to transfer my blog from nameone.wordpress.com to nametwo.wordpress.com but I am then told that the nameone.wordpress.com would be taken off me. How can I change the name of my blog from nameone.wordpress.com to nametwo.wordpress.com without losing either domain name?

Hi there – At this point, you’d need to export all of your content from nameone.wordpress.com:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/And then import it into nametwo.wordpress.com:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/It might be simpler for you to simply map a custom domain, such as nametwo.com to whichever blog, though:
