How can I change the site logo to sit next to the site name?
-
Hello, I am using the Canape theme, and would like to change the placement of my site Logo to sit to the right of my Site Name. Any suggestions or CSS code would help.
The website is http://www.thesoban.chThanks in advance.

Hey there, generally we won’t provide code for rearranging page elements, as it goes a bit outside our scope:
https://wordpress.com/support/custom-design/css-support/The reasoning for that is layouts will often need to change based on screen size. So for these things we’d recommend using a designer if you can.
That said, have you considered just adding the site name to your logo image? That may be the most straightforward option, that would automatically work on all screen sizes.
Also, I noticed the site you’re working with is not hosted here. Going forward, you’ll want to use the correct forums for self-managed installations, at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Canape has its own forums here:
https://wordpress.org/support/theme/canapeOr, you’d be welcome to migrate your site to our services. You can find our pricing here:

Hi,
Thank you so much for your reply. I’ll give adding the site name to the Logo Image. Does seem like a simpler way.
With regards to your comment about my site not being hosted here. I’m surprised about that as I can’t access the Canape theme link you’ve included in the above message. WordPress.org doesn’t recognise the email address I’m using which is also associated with this website…
Could you provide further information?
Thank you. -
The WordPress.org forum has no connection with this WordPress.com forum. To post there you’ll need to register an account.

Super confused 😟
So someone kindly set up the account for me after mapping the domain name
and sent me the login details.I log in using https://www.thesoban.ch/wp-admin/
thinking I’m using WordPress.com.I built a website.
After reading this thread, I realise the site was build on WordPress.org, I checked in settings to confirm and yes, indeed it is using WordPress.org.
However, if I log in directly using WordPress.com, it still takes me to my built website…and I have never logged in using the WordPress.org.
What does this mean? How am I logging in and accessing my page using WordPress.com, yet it’s built on WordPress.org?
Thanks.

To clarify, on WordPress.com we have features that you do not normally find on the free “open source” version of WordPress that DNS-NET Hosing uses, such as our WordPress.com commenting system, customization tools, social media connections, etc. It even connects to our system in such a way that you can use our WordPress.com “dashboard” to manage your wordpress.org site (normally yo would use wp-admin with a site like this) and that is I think where the confusion is.
Yes it is true that because of the Jetpack plugin on your site, you can use the WordPress.com dashboard to manage your site. However we do not actually “host” your site and so we’re not able to look into it when you are having issues. It also means we are not able to help with CSS for your site here in our WordPress.com forums. However, you can ask here, in the wordpress.org forum for your theme: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/canape/
That forum is for technical issues with the theme, and sometimes for help with very simple CSS questions, but the CSS you need is more advanced (due to the fact it needs to be adaptable to smartphones and tablets) so I would also recommend hiring someone to help you with the change you are needing. You can also consider the workarounds that @supernovia has mentioned above.

Thank you so much for your explanation!
It’s made things (a bit) clearer :)
I’ll mark this as resolved.
