How can I change the size of the editor area?

  • Unknown's avatar

I can’t change the size of the editor area.

According to the support there’s a setting called ‘Size of the post box’, but this setting seems to be gone. At some point in time I probably changed it to 100 because I had a huge screen, but now I’m on a small laptop and can’t change it back.

In addition, there’s a widget in the bottom right part of the editing area, but it only allows to make it bigger, not smaller.

Please add the setting back, so that people don’t have to manually change the size every time they want to write a post. And also, please allow the widget to decrease the size of the area.

  • Hi there, the option to set the size of the post box was recently removed in favour of other methods for resizing the box, such as the distraction-free mode:

The post box should allow resizing to adjust it both larger and smaller, and then to remember the last-used size. Unfortunately, this feature is not working as intended at the moment, but should be fixed soon. Thanks for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience.

Yeah, but that doesn’t work on Chrome: I can increase the size of the original textarea, but not decrease it.

In Firefox I can decrease it, but the setting is not persistent.

  • I understand. As I mentioned, the feature is not working as intended. I’ll keep you posted when a fix is in place.

Oh, I didn’t read that part. Thank you.

  • No problem. :-) I’ll keep you posted.
