How can I change the url that 'home' goes to?

  I changed the url of my site but the link for ‘home’ is still to an old url that I haven’t used in a while so whenever I click home I get taken to a page telling me the blog’s shut down as I deleted that url.

  You need to go to Appearance > Menus, delete the Home item you had created, click View All in the Pages module, select the ready-made Home item, click Add to Menu, drag to reposition, save menu.
