How can I control the amount of information my posts show when in a feed on a page?
-
Hello. I have my posts mapped to appear on a page called “blog”. When you see the posts displayed on blog, I want to be able to see a thumbnail of the featured image in the post as well as an excerpt. So that when someone clicks “blog”, they can get the idea of what each post is about without having to click each one.
Thank you!

Hi Krystal,
The Basis theme you’re using includes two different display options for the blog: the standard view and the simple archive view. The simple archive view hides post content, excerpts, and featured images, leaving only the date, author, and post title on the page.
You can disable that simple archive view (to switch back to the view with excerpts and featured images) with these steps:
- Open your site’s Customizer.
- Open the Theme section.
- Uncheck the box next to Enable simple archive view.
- Click the Save button.
You can find out more about that on the Basis theme support page. If you have any other questions about setting that up, or any other settings in your theme, you’re welcome to post them in the Basis theme forum for help directly from the theme’s author.
