How can I convert from customized theme to free basic?

  • Unknown's avatar

I use the theme, Visual, by Devin Price. I paid $99 to customize this theme. Do I have to pay this every year? If so, How can I use this as a basic free theme for free and still keep the same content. What would I sacrifice?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • The short answer is “no”.

What you have paid $99 for is WordPress.com Premium. Which includes:

    -A Free Domain
    -Custom Design
    -VideoPress
    -Space Upgrade
    -Ad-Free

For more info, you can refer to this page: http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/pro-bundle/

Custom design is the upgrade that allows you to customize a theme. If you cancel WordPress.com Premium, any CSS changes you have made would disappear. Though you could pay $30/yr to purchase the Custom Design upgrade individually. You do use domain mapping for myrtlebeachdj.com. That is included as part of the WordPress.com Premium upgrade. But it can also be purchased separately for $13/yr.

Does that make sense? Please let me know if you have further questions.

I would like to cancel WordPress.com Premium and sacrifice any CSS changes I have made with the Custom Design upgrade. How I can go about and do that?

I do not need the free domain, because the one I am using now is just temporary and I will be pointing another domain name to the site. I will not be using any videos and also will not be needing anymore space.

All I want to retain and love about the Visual theme by Devin Price is the Tilted Mosaic Gallery Setting on the page entitled What Do We Do? http://southeastdjs.wordpress.com/what-do-we-do/

  • I can do that for you.

Just to confirm, you would like to cancel WordPress.com Premium for both myrtlebeachdj.com and southeastdjs.wordpress.com?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes on southeastdjs, but please hold off on myrtlebeachdj.com.

  • Done.

Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Let’s please cancel WordPress.com Premium on myrtlebeachdj.com. The url is now pointing to a new WordPress website designed from scratch by a third party.

The WordPress.com Premium theme that was paid for was the Expound Theme the design for which used to point to myrtlebeachdj.com. Right now that old design is defunct in that the url now points to the aforementioned site designed by the third party (Mainstreet Host).

NOTE: The original url which was used to design the site using the Expound Theme was: musiconthestrand.wordpress.com which when applied (at the time of this writing) is immediately redirected to myrtlebeachdj.com.

How do I point musiconthestrand.wordpress.com away from myrtlebeachdj.com? In other words, how do I direct musiconthestrand.wordpress.com back to the Expound Theme I designed the site in?
