How can I copy a post from my wordpress.org to wordpress.com? I accidentally deleted a post from my .com account, and I’m not sure what the easiest way to copy it is without importing all of my posts again.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You know how to copy and paste, right? That’s what you will have to do. Also if you are duplicating content across domains then you need to comprehend what Google’s position is on that, know their algorithm will detect duplication and learn, and how it will make your original content position in the SERPs sink like a stone and the duplicate content get tossed into the supplementary index where the sun don’t shine.

Thanks a lot timethief! I feel like a timethief for wasting your time with a stupid question.
What you said about the original post sinking like a stone, will that have a negative effect on the copy/pasting I do onto my self-hosted site?
Thanks -
If you duplicate content by posting the same content on two separate domains then you are going to regret it https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66359?hl=en

So if I copy and paste the post from the old wordpress hosted site to the new self-hosted site, that’s a bad idea? Sorry, I read the link you sent but I didn’t understand a lot of it because I’m very new to this. What would you suggest I do, use a 301 redirect on the new site to the old site?
Sorry sorry sorry, and thank you. -
Every post ought to be a unique post published on a single site that is not duplicated anywhere else on any other site on the internet. If you do not respect that and post the same content to two different sites then both sites will suffer.

So how to proceed is simple. On the second site you post only an excerpt of the the post on the first site and backlink to the original post.

Right, but I’ve imported my old posts to the new self-hosted site, as I was instructed to do in a guide on switching from wordpress.com to wordpress.org….

Okay. Then all you have to do is copy and paste the single post from the WordPress.COM blog into the WordPress.ORG blog. After doing that make the WordPress.COM site private and there will be no duplicate content issue. To change blog visibility to Private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 .
