How can I create a list of news on the sidebar?
-
Hello,
I have seen in some pages a gadget like feature that consists of a title (e.g. In the News) and underneath this title it shows a list of articles apeared on different newspapers and magazines.
The list is very simple; it includes 1- the title of the article -in blue- (with a hipperlink to go to the corresponding page) 2- The Paper/ Magazine where it is hosted/published -in red- 3-The name of the author -in black-
I would like to do the same thing on my blog but I don’t know why. I have tried different options but I don’t get the same results. I enclose a link to one of such pages so you know what I mean.

Thank you

Wish we knew the options you tried and discarded. But here are some options.
Are you wanting a service that will give you a list of sources related to a particular post topic or the overall topic of your blog?
You could try Zemanta…
http://en.support.wordpress.com/zemanta-for-recommended-links-photos-articles/Or you could utilize rss feeds…
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/rss-widget/Or do you want to create your own list of news resources and just need the coding for your widget box? First create a post or a page with the content you wantin the widget, get the coloring and linking right there. When that looks exactly as you want it to look, go to your text tab and paste that HTML into a text widget. Title it News, maybe do a little tweaking with line spacing and there you have it.
