How can I create my own blog's Topics or Subjects Archive ?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

    I actually have 2 questions…

    1. How can I create my own blog’s Topics or Subjects Archive ?
    2. How do I configure my blog so that only 1 blog entry appears on my page at a time, rather than a scroll down of the entire set of entries that I have written?
    Thanks for your help.

Alex, I’ve never been a big fan of the default setting using months for Archives. It’s not specific enough to be much use in manually searching or scanning a site. The Archives feature in the sidebar is a Widget, so you can remove it. I use the Categories widget, you can name it anything you want. What you then have to do is create categories, and categorize each post. I scanned your site briefly. It looks like all your posts are categorized the default “uncategorized.” So that will take some time, but it’s worth it. You can check out one of my sites to see how it looks.

I’m also not a big fan of infinite scrolling. But, you can fix that easy enough! Go Dashboard –> Settings –> Reading. At this page you can unselect To infinity and beyond and also chose Blog pages show at most. When you’ve done that remember to scroll down and hit the blue Save Changes button.
