How can i deactive the title

  I want to remove the title that is automatically enabled on top of the page.

  Is it possible? thanks

  As I understand it, you’ll take a hit on your SEO for that. Just so you know.

  You can actually put the title in at settings > general. The title will still be visible to search engines, just not on the blog. At least that is my understanding.

  The other way to do it is to change the color of the text for the title to ” transparent ” and in the case of the theme the blogger is using, set the background in #title to “none “.

  It’s my understanding that search engines are getting more sophisticated about ignoring non-displayed text, but I have no metrics to back that up. I definitely think the second mod would slip by anyone, though. Very slick.

  The thing is though, many people incorporate the blog title into the header image, and it simply doesn’t make sense for the search engines to then punish you when you choose not to physically show the text title over your beautifully thought out masterpiece of a header image.

  If you hide the text via the CSS, and still have the text entered at settings > general, then in the head section of the generated HTML for the pages of the blog the title is still there. I just double checked it with my test blog. It is just that the browser does not display it.

  If you delete the title from settings > general, then this is what you see

  <title> </title>

  and that IS a problem.

  You’re absolutely right, of course. As search engines become more sophisticated, they’re learning.
