How can I delete a domain and map a subdomain?

  Hi, I have registered a domain name zpi-japan.com that I own however what I intended to do was to map a “subdomain”, not the domain itself since I have a different website that I use the domain “zpi-japan.com” for. I want the wordpress site to be “page.zpi-japan.com”.

  I have already added a CNAME to this domain but it seems that the domain I accidentally added (zpi-japan.com) is stopping me from mapping the subdomain. What can I do to map a subdomain “page.zpi-japan.com”?

  Hi there!

  No problem. You can click on the link below to cancel your domain mapping:
  https://officezpi.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

  Once that’s done, you can add the subdomain mapping for page.zpi-japan.com in the exact same way that you added the mapping for zpi-japan.com. This time of course, you’ll enter page.zpi-japan.com as the domain you want to map.

  You’ll do that here:
  https://officezpi.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

  Simply click to “Map a Domain Name You Already Own.”

  Once that’s complete, be sure to set your new subdomain, page.zpi-japan.com, as your primary domain in Store → My Domains in your officezpi.wordpress.com Dashboard.

  Hi,

  Thank you so much for your quick response. I was able to delete it successfully!

  Now I am having a problem adding the subdomain “page.zpi-japan.com”. When I try to add, it says that “this domain does not seem to be valid.”

  Do you have any idea what the problem is? I have already added the CNAME…

  Hey there!

  It appears as if your CNAME may not yet be set up correctly with your registrar. Could you please check in with the support staff at ONAMAE.COM and let them know you’re trying to map a subdomain with WordPress.com? Have them troubleshoot your CNAME.
