How can I delete an image from my blog?

I have searched the forum etc. and I couldn’t find anything that could help me.
I have just started using the Spun theme and I have uploaded an image that I want to delete permanently from my blog. I navigated to the library in the dashboard and deleted the image there but the photo still shows up in my blog!
I am an average computer user who maintains two blogs in blogger and pages in social networking sites like FB, Instagram etc. It blows my mind that in WordPress as a beginner is so difficult to create and edit a simple blog entry despite all the tutorials that I have been reading and watching the only video that I was able to find. It would help if there is something that’s explain how WrodPress.com is structured and how the user can navigate through its different layers. If such a thing exist already I was not able to find it.

If you did not clear your browser cache after deleting the image then you are seeing a cached copy. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
Also know that we cannot assist anyone with any image issue unless they provide the URL of the image they refer to.

I have never had this problem before so beside clearing the browser cache and making sure that cookies are enabled in my browser as you suggested I don’t know that else I can do maybe quit WordPress for now and come back tomorrow?

It appears as if it hasn’t been deleted from your Media Library. What is the URL(s) of the post(s) or page(s) that you embedded it into please?

Is that image a site logo image? See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-logo/ and then undo what you did to add it.

I don’t think that it’s a site logo image. This is the first time that I hear about it. It’s the first image that I uploaded in the first page of the theme Spun.
My library looks empty so where did the image go?
Anyway after spending another whole day in trying to figuring out how to use this bloody platform I have decided to switch to Wix for the time being I need to have a portfolio up soon and I cannot afford to keep wasting my time like this. Thanks for your help.
