How can I develop a new wordpress site whilst keeping my existing site live until it's ready?

    Hi

    I currently have a few sites which I built on Moonfruit, but have come to realise they are pretty poor in comparrison to WordPress.

    I’d like to redevelop the sites on WordPress but don’t want the current sites to be effected unti I’m ready to make them live.

    I notice that if I set up a WordPress site using the existing domain it will show a message saying ‘Site under Construction’, which I don’t want.

    Have I missed something? Can I not design a new site using the proper domain and simply repoint it when it’s ready, via my domain provider?

    The best solution would be to design & develop your sites on WordPress.com using the Free Plan initially. You can learn more about Plans here:

    You can have as many sites you want in your account. You can even try the Premium or Business Plan features as well, as per your requirement. There is 30-refund policy. Your current sites can be as it is until the time you have all your sites ready on WordPress.com.

    There is no such thing. You can just develop the sites and later just point the point the domain to WordPress.com.

    Yes, as I mentioned previously, you can quickly make the new sites and just point the domain here. You will need the “Map Your Existing Domain” service. This service comes with all the Paid Plans. You can learn more about it in this support document:
