How can I display posts separately by category?

I have two categories right now and I want to be able to view my posts like I view them on my ‘posts page’ but organized by category. In other words, I want a page that only shows posts in ‘Category A’, and another that only shows posts in ‘Category B’. Right now, I am using the ‘categories’ widget and when I click each category it takes me to an archives page for that category. This would be fine, but I want to be able to view them like they are on my ‘posts page’ with the images and excerpts. Right now they look like this: http://extinctmag.wordpress.com/category/blog/
but I want them to look like they do here: http://extinctmag.wordpress.com/recent/
Is there a way to do this?
