How can I edit a grid-styled page?

Specifically, in Pique, when selecting a “grid” style page, the style pulls in all the content from that page, instead of letting one select just an image an a name, for example. I don’t want all the pages content to appear within the grid – it seems cumbersome and repetitive.

To that, I wonder if, similarly, I can edit a “static” page with panels in the same way – to only have the panels show the page name and a short blurb, rather than all the content. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might offer.

I have the same issue, how do I get rid of the child page language appearing at the bottom of the parent grid. I found the information in Source Code but I can not edit Source Code.

@b4ssf4ce, we should be able to hide the content from the Grid page with CSS. If you can perhaps set up a draft page or something that I can look at I’d be happy to see what I can do.

Thanks! Here is a test page set up as a grid, with the four “child” pages I want displayed. On this test page, I’ve written a short description of exactly what I’d like to appear as part of the grid.

Here is the page link: https://machineroomstudio.wordpress.com/gear-2/

When you get a moment, just let me know what you think would be best for me to do. Thanks ‘thesacredpath’!

Many thanks for the link. You know, we can hide the content, but then it just leaves the image and the title and no way to get to those pages to see the content. The image and titles aren’t links.

I would suggest adding a short introductory paragraph at the top of each of the child pages and then insert a Read More tag which the visitor can then click to get to the page. You can take a look at an example on my test site. I customized the read more message, which is covered in the support page I linked above.

So if the introductory paragraph appears on the child page, I assume I use CSS to add the read more button on the grid page. I also think my theme (pique) has buttons as part of the theme which I could probably employ in this way. I’ll give it a go and see if it works. Thanks!

Edit the child page and add the introductory paragraph and right below that (like it is it’s own paragraph, add the More Tag and it will appear on the grid page below your introductory paragraph.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying that. I’ll give it a go then update this topic. Thanks again!

    That worked. Thank you!
