How can I embed a film from www.dotSUB.com
-
Hello!, I have a little problem. I know that for embedding YouTube videos we can use the [youtube] tag but, how can we embed videos from other services?
For example, I need to embed a film from http://www.dotsub.com and I don’t know how can I do it. I have tried to put the the html code they offer:<iframe src=”http://dotsub.com/api/player.php?filmid=175&filminstance=177&language=en” frameborder=”0″ width=”480″ height=”392″></iframe>
but the server of WordPress do not accept this line of code.
Any one knows how can I solve it? -
You can’t. We can’t use iframes, javascript or anything else like that on our blogs for security reasons; it gets stripped out, and so the other services won’t work. There’s no way round it unless it’s a video from Youtube, Google Video or Daily Motion.

Thank you very much cjwriter!
dotSUB.com is a real interesting service that offers translations for videos and films to any language of the world. Perhaps it would be interesting for the development team of WordPress to offer any solution for embedding videos from this place, I think in the next future is possible that many people will want to offer their videos with this new feature.
Best wishes! ;)

Getting different video sites to work with WP is something that comes up a lot here, but this one does sound interesting, particularly for a host as global as WordPress. If you’d like to make a suggestion to staff, you can always send an email to them once support opens in a couple of hours. It might not happen, but at least then you’ve done everything you can. Happy blogging. :)

making a suggestion to staff is futile.
