how can I embed follow blog widget into a post

Readers tell me they have trouble finding the “follow” button. On tablets and smartphones, the sidebar is at the bottom of the page – no wonder! How can I either (1) embed the follow blog widget/button into a post, or (2) provide a link to enable readers easily to sign up to follow the blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Joey.
It’s not currently possible to embed a follow button directly into your posts/pages, however, logged in WordPress.com users will see the Follow button in the top admin bar on every page of your site. In addition, those logged out of WordPress.com will see a Follow button towards the bottom.
I did notice some layout issues when viewing your site on mobile, that I wanted to note. Here’s a screenshot of what I’m seeing when viewing your site on my Nexus 5:

The issue looks to be due to our mobile theme being active. As Twenty Eleven is already responsive, it isn’t absolutely necessary to have our mobile theme active. You can disable the mobile theme and go back to this theme’s default design for mobiles via Appearance > Mobile:

Check the No option next to Enable mobile theme on that page and then Update.
With the mobile theme disabled, readers may have to scroll less to see the Follow button in your sidebar.

Your advice is very helpful.
I disabled “mobile” & the appearance problem (which I didn’t even raise with you) is solved.
To further reduce scrolling for mobile users looking for the “follow” button, I will reduce the number of posts per page.

Following on from a question that you asked a couple of weeks ago: I recently found I was wrong in my assumption that you couldn’t embed the follow blog widget into a post. We have a special shortcode here at WordPress.com, which can be used to display a subscription box within a post/page. You can find more details on this shortcode, and how to use it, here:
