How can I ensure a good printing standard from my blog

    Hi!
I need to have a feature, where my readers can push a button, and print a page (cooking recipies), but the feature I have now is not layoutet well.
My question is: Can I buy a “print layout” or something similar, so that my pages comes out well and looks good when people print them?

    Thanks!

    Hi!

We have a recipe shortcode, which can be found here:

    Recipes Shortcode

That adds some formatting to your recipes and adds a handy print icon on the top right-hand corner of the post. Would that work for what you’re looking for?

    Hi there!

I’m afraid that it doesn’t cut it: My recepies is not part of a blogpost – every recipe is written on a separate page (1 page per recipe). I have done that because I want my blog to be a “online cookbook” where it is possible to look around and get inspired without searching for specific ingredients i.e.
So – I need to be able to print a hole page. If possible pretty much in the layout I have set up on the page – if not possible, then in another predefined layout.
I tried to insert the [recipe] and [/recipe] hoping that it would give me something, but it doesn’t look nice, and there is almost no difference between the printet page with and without the html code (I made a PDF example of both, can send you these if you give me a way to be able to upload attached files).
Do you have other ideas for me? Elder people print my pages for keeps, so it would be just great if I could solve this!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi!

Could you send me the URL of a page where you’ve entered the recipe shortcode so I can take a look?

    Hi :)

    Here is an example: http://sissesdiner.com/opskrifter/kod-og-fisk/saltimbocca-alla-romana/

    – but of course it goes for all pages. If you press “Udskriv” (print) at the bottom of the page, you will see yhat is doesn’t look pretty :)

    Thanks!

Sorry – forgot to enter the html – comming here:

The layout that is viewed on the blog alters when I use the [recipe] – html code. Does it have to be that way? I can live with it, but would much prefer the layout without the box around the whole text and picture…

    Hi Sisse,

It doesn’t look like that page is using the recipe shortcode as well as it could. Here’s an example I created:

Can you take a look there? Admittedly, my Danish isn’t perfect, but I tried to arrange it logically using bullet points and numbered lists for the steps. That creates the best possible look for printing pages:

Would that work for what you’re trying to do? To create this look, I used the attributes (like Title) shown here:
