How can I ensure my latest post is at the top of my blog?

Hi, I have the Rosalie theme and I would like to ensure my most recent post stays at the top, rather than just in my featured content slider. Thanks!

Hi, typically, posts featured in the slider will not be included in the listing of posts below since that would be duplicate content, and search engines sort of look down on that. There is no way to have the latest post in the slider and also in the listing of posts below the slider.

I’m having the opposite problem – making a post sticky now pushes that content to the top of my recent posts instead of including it in the slider – where I want it to be. It’s like wordpress doesn’t recognize I’m using a slider anymore.
Making a post un-sticky also doesn’t remove it from the slider…

Hi @thesacredpath – I think I’ve figured out what’s going in. The theme I’m using has been retired for a while now, so the code must just be broken. Since it’s a free theme and I can’t edit CSS myself, I have little option but to switch to a different one. Hopefully I can find one that’s similar enough so I don’t have to spend weeks changing tags and settings for each post.

Hi, tags, categories and your content will all be there and shouldn’t need much in the way of changes. Most newer themes use a featured tag to put them into the sliders at the top, but other than that you should be good to go on a new theme, and if you have problems, we are always here.
