How can I finally get a password?

Unable to use either the original password I submitted, identify the new user password you offered (“*****), or my effort to introduce a new password when offered the opportunity (which was really the original password resubmitted). No password, no WordPress! You did retain my username, however.

(Same user adding information) Was just offered the chance to reset password, followed the directions; offered the chance to log in, I did so. But the box did the little shimmey, and left this message:
“ERROR: The password you entered for the email or username clarence3935 is incorrect. Lost your password?”
I believe that WordPress failed to validate it somehow, and more than once.
