How can I fix a wmv file that plays audio but no video?

I have uploaded a wmv file to my media library but when I embed or insert it into a page of my blog it plays the audio but not the video. What do you think the problem is?

I should add that I’m attempting to replace a successfully uploaded video with a new rendition.

Yes, that’s it, thanks. I did insert it into the post; my conclusion that it produced audio only was based upon the preview, and I did not proceed to update the page. I will read the document you’ve provided and try again tonight — I’m out of the office right now — and I’ll let you know the outcome. Thanks again!

It turned out that the trick was to save the video “for high-definition display” (1440 x 1080 pixels) before uploading it to the blog. It looks good now!
