How can I fix an image upload issue?

  I am working on a website for a client, and I am currently unable to upload images. I keep getting the following message. It is currently in a staging area.

  “DTOS Logo alternate 1.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
  The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads.

  I have tried changing the permissions on files, and I still haven’t gotten it to work. Am I changing the right information?
