How can I fix image upload errors?

  Dear WordPress Support,

  Since last night (and it also happened last week) every image that I try to upload comes up with an error message. This happens whether I drag and drop or select them separately. This worked perfectly well until now, so it is incredibly frustrating.

  I’m at my wits’ end and don’t know how to solve this problem.

  I’m so sorry to hear that! Can I get a little more information to figure out what’s going on? Are you uploading the images via:

  https://throughthelookingglassanddowntherabbithole.wordpress.com/wp-admin/media-new.php

  or

  https://wordpress.com/post

  I know we’ve been having a few issues with this in the recent past, but it looks like it was fixed recently. If you’ve been uploading via: https://throughthelookingglassanddowntherabbithole.wordpress.com/wp-admin/media-new.php, can you try uploading through https://wordpress.com/post?

  Hi there,

  Thanks so much for getting back to me so fast; I really do appreciate it.

  I had issues both in the new /post version and the old /media version, but I just tried it now in the /media version but with the Text view rather than the Visual view, and for some mysterious reason it works.

  I’m super confused, but if it works, then I’m not complaining :)

  Oh perfect! Recently we’ve had server maintenance issues, so there were a few hiccups.

  But, I’m glad it’s working now! If you run into this problem again, try to take a screenshot of the error and it’ll really help with troubleshooting.
