How can I fix my Subscription Widget?

    I am having serious issues with my subscription widget. For some people the subscription works but I have had a load of people tell me they can’t subscribe. Either no confirmation email arrives to their email account at all, or they receive an email saying they have subscribed but there is no confirmation link. They are not active subscribers and do not show up in my site stats.

    I have tested it myself and have received different results each time. Can you please help me? I have put so much hard work into this and I am really disappointed that I am missing out on subscribers.

    Hi Jess,

    After subscribing to your blog just now, everything appeared to be displaying correctly for me. I received a confirmation e-mail and you were listed among the “Blogs I Follow.”

    Do you know if the users who are primarily encountering this issue are logged into their WordPress accounts when subscribing to your blog? Or are your readers who do not have WordPress accounts coming across this error?

    Can you walk me through each of the results that you’ve experienced when trying to subscribe to your blog yourself?

    Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I have not received any notification that you subscribed and you’re not showing up as a subscriber on my stats. Is this normal?

    OK so these are the issues…

    Most people trying to subscribe aren’t wordpress users, however when I tried yesterday it didn’t work for me either.

    These are the issues…

    1. They subscribe and receive no email at all.
    2. They subscribe and receive an email saying they have subscribed but there is no link for them to click to confirm, and they are not active subscribers. Nothing comes up in the blogs you are following section and nothing shows on my site stats even though they receive an email saying they have subscribed. It’s like the stage where they receive the confirmation link email is missed and the subscription confirmation email is sent anyway.

    I tried yesterday and received different outcomes each time. Both of the above scenarios and 1 successful subscription attempt. WEIRD! Can you help?

    They won’t receive emails until they click the confirmation link. Have you confirmed that all emails are sent out without the confirmation link? If so, please forward one to support@wordpress.com
