How can I fix my webmail problem?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m having a problem with my webmail accounts. They no longer work since linking with the wordpress hosting/content. I can no longer either send nor receive emails. When attempting to send, no error message is generated, but the email doesn’t arrive. When others attempting to contact the ajarmagazine.com email addresses, they receive multiple error messages some hours later.

Perhaps, the MX records for the domain, AJARMAGAZINE.COM are not correct.

The correct MX records to be used for your domain are:
    priority: 0 host: @ points to: smtp.secureserver.net
    priority: 10 host: @ points to: mailstore1.secureserver.net

  • Hi,

The message at the end is likely what happened.

When mapping your domain, the MX records need to be added on our end. I’ve added them for you (you can check me at Store->Domains->Edit DNS, direct link https://ajarmagazine.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains&action=dnsedit&domain=ajarmagazine.com ).

It can take a couple of hours for these to go into effect across the Internet, but you should start to see deliverability very soon.

    Cheers!

Hello, thank you for the help but the emails are still not going through to the ajarmagazine.com email addresses.

Sent emails are returned with this error message: “Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain ajarmagazine.com by smtp.secureserver.net. [72.167.238.29].”

Is there something else to do?

  • That error indicates that the server at smtp.secureserver.net rejected the incoming e-mail, so the record we added is working, though the e-mail server is throwing the error.

Could you contact your e-mail provider (appears to be GoDaddy) and ask them if there is something wrong on their end or an addition setting that wasn’t provided originally?

    Thanks!

Hello again, Could you please take a look at the response and help with next steps? I’m not sure how to add something to the domain DNS.

“Thank you for contacting Online Support. I have reviewed your account and email plan and can see you have selected an email plan located on Asia Servers. Here are the correct MX records needed to add to your Domain DNS. MX 0 Record smtp.asia.secureserver.net MX 10 Record mailstore1.asia.secureserver.net” – from Go Daddy online support

    Thank you again.

  • Howdy,

You can add the following to your Store->Domains->Edit DNS page for your domain:

    MX 0 smtp.asia.secureserver.net
    MX 10 mailstore1.asia.secureserver.net

Please remove any other lines that begin with “MX” as well.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
