How can I fix page order in the navigation

  Hi,

  Am trying to order my links for teh main nav but they keep swapping places. How can I asign and fix their order?

  Page order is sometimes theme dependant but you can try assigning them a ranking when you edit each page using the Page Order option along the right hand side of the Write Page screen.

  thanks for that. have added a page order ranking th epage i want first as 1 (i.e. ignoring the home page) but it still doesn’t work. Am using the theme shown here http://stuff4sam.wordpress.com/. Anyone got any idea if this one is customisable? Will have to change the theme if it isn’t I think as it makes no sense having unordered nav links.

  A quick test shows me that Andreas09 lists them alphabeticaly, even with the Page order set. Looks like that’s how the theme designer made it.

  I think Blix does. I really would be hard pressed to let you know since all fo the themes here have been modified by staff and are not the standard ones one can download off of the internet.

  If you put a blank space at the beginning of a Page Title, that page shows up at the top of the list. 2 beginning blanks in the Title goes higher in the order than 1 blank space, etc. So, let’s say you’ve got 8 Pages you want to put in a particular order. For the first one on the list place 7 spaces in front of the title; for the second one, put 6 spaces;… for the last one, put no leading space. The blank spaces don’t print on the blog so it doesn’t look funny when you’re done. I just did this on my site and it works. I hope this makes sense; if not I’ll try again.

  Know this is an old post but I just wanted to add that I have tried this trick with the spaces using the K2-lite theme and got all my pages in the order I want and the spaces don’t show. Thanks ktismatics as this was really annoying me!

  I also used the trick of Ktismatics and at first i got my pages in the order i wanted.
  Yesterday i made some new pages and now the page order is wrong. I can’t get the order how i want to.

  Is there a way to do this for categories as well.. because as of now it just automatically removes spaces.
