How can I fix the order in the menu?
-
My menu is not displaying correctly. I have arranged it in the order I want (and clicked save), but when I look at it on the site, it remains in alphabetical order.
Thanks in advance for your help.

That’s strange.
re: changing the order of Pages, not Posts
There are two approaches.
1. If you have only pages in your horizontal menu and that’ is all you want in it see here to use numerical order. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/#order
See also https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/#parent2. A better approach is creating a Custom Menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#creating-a-custom-menu
Adding Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages
Changing the Order & Creating Sub-Menus http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-creating-sub-menusCustom menu Troubleshooting – My pages are in the wrong order
Check the sub-pages themselves to see if you have established a Parent page and child page “hierarchical structure” in the page attributes module. Remove if required. Also remove any “order” numbers you have assigned that may conflict with the order you are creating by dropping and dragging. Or simply change them so they are the same order as you establish in the menu. Establish consistency – problem solved.

Thank you for your help. I was able to use the Quick Edit function to assign an order and/or a parent page to pages.

That is one way to fix the sorting, but I wanted to drop in with an explanation just to make sure you’re aware of how the custom menus work.
I see that you have setup a custom menu at https://cgeannualmeeting2015.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php
And that menu is saved, however, it has not been assigned to a location and so that means it’s not in use yet on your site. To switch over to using that custom menu, you would need to check the “Navigation Menu” checkbox next to “Theme locations” at the bottom of the menu and click “Save Menu” again. Note that once you switch to a custom menu, the order is controlled from the Appearance > Menus page and the page order option you found before would no longer have an effect.
You’d want to pick one way or the other, so you can keep using page order for now if you want but you can also switch to the custom menu at some point in the future if you want to manage menu items from Appearance > Menus in the dashboard.
