How can I force https on wordpress?
-
Hello everybody!
I opened my wordpress blog last week, and my first post has had 67 sharing in Facebook. I have problem: posting it on facebook, I generated an https adress. Now, if you open the page from the https link, you will see 67 sharings on the facebook button, but if you look for my website from the internet, you will see that I have just 1 sharing, because that is an http link, that is to say, a different link.
Do someone know how can I make it that everyone will see only the https version of the website? Do I need to upgrade my account in order to be able to modify the code?
Thank you in advance for your help, it’s a pity because it seems like that that no one sharde my post :(

You can enable https for your Admin functions. See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Thank you for your answer. I’ve already done it, but it didn’t solve the problem. That is just for my Admin functions, but it doesn’t change what the people see when they look for my website on the internet. The still see the http version, with just 1 Facebook sharing on the facebook button, instead of 67.

I’ve read on some websites that it is possible to do a redirection downloading this plug in http://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/, but here it says “This is particularly useful if you are migrating pages from an old website, or are changing the directory of your WordPress INSTALLATION.”
So I guess I need an upgraded version of WordPress to do it. Is there a WordPress version in which you have the installation on your pc and you cand upload such stuff as plug in and so on?

Thank you for your answer. So do you know if I can do a redirection on wordpress.com in some way, like upgrading my account?

The https version of your websiste don’t exists.
Your web site is and will always be http://karalisberlin.wordpress.com/

Your website with “https:” produces safety warnings with most browsers.
That’s all, i rest my case. -
Yes, the point is when I shared my blog link in facebook, it automatically generated a https link, because I use facebook with https. And now as you can see if you visit the https page, you will se 73 sharings on the facebook button, while you see just 1 in the http version.
