How can I fully "transfer" my blogs to a new profile, including a username?

Hi. I am in the process of transferring two blogs that are mine to a new profile (which will also be mine). I’ve set up the Admin settings and have done the import for both, but need the username of one of the transferred blogs to serve for the new profile. When I request it, I get the “unavailable” error. Is this possible? Please say yes.
The username I want/need is sandmillfilms (which is one of the transferred blogs). The profile I have transferred this to is sandmillfilmsblog. Thanks so much for your kind assistance. Truly appreciate it!
