How can I get >50 recent posts in the sidebar using Recent Posts widget?

  I am using WordPress.com. I have more than 50 past posts, but can’t get more than 50 to show in the “Recent Posts” widget. I’d like to list all of them. Is there a limit to the number of Recent Posts one can list in the sidebar? If there is no limit, how can I get more than 50 to show? Thank you.

  50 is the limit. We have found that having more than 50 posts displayed caused unacceptable timeouts and errors.
