How can I get a printer friendly widget so only my recipe prints not 30 other pg

When someone wants to print one of my blog posts there is no printer friendly option so only the recipe prints. Because I use so many demo pictures each post might entail printing 30-40 pages. This won’t work. How can I get and use a printer friendly widget on my posts?

  • From Settings -> Sharing in your blog’s Dashboard, add the Print button to your enabled services.

This will allow them to print just the post.

If you’re referring to just a portion of the post itself, we don’t really have an option for that besides posting the recipe as source code. It won’t look as good, but at least they’ll have the option to print just the portion.

I already have that, but what happens is it prints everything including pictures which may end up being 30-40 pages for my post.

My son requested I ask you this:

“I understand that you can’t change the behavior of the WP print button itself, but since it’s just triggering the browser’s built-in print function, can you build a stylesheet that targets print only and include that with the theme? It would be helpful to only include the site header and current blog post.”

  • Some folks do want their post to print with images, so we can’t change the behavior of the button like that.

Instead, posting just the recipe as source code seems to be your best option.
