How can I get administration rights for my blog?
-
I need to get back the administration rights for my blog.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Hi,
Did you give the administration rights to somebody else? If you did, you need to ask them to follow the instructions here to make you an admin:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#adding-users-to-your-siteIf you just want to get to your admin interface, your Dashboard is here:
https://aknorge.wordpress.com/wp-admin/You can also see all your sites at https://wordpress.com/sites/
Hope that helps!

Hi!
Thanks for your response! The problem is that the admin rights just disappeared from my profile. I did not give the admin rights to anybody else. Is there any way to get the rights back?
-
What does it say when you go here:
https://aknorge.wordpress.com/wp-admin/or here: https://wordpress.com/sites/
-
at the first link I get this message:
User aktrondelag Cannot Access the Dashboard RequestedYou are logged in as “aktrondelag” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “aknorge”. If you are not “aktrondelag”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “aktrondelag” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.
At the second one:
You don’t have a WordPress yet. Why not get started right away? -
It sounds like you may have more than one username account and you are logged in under the one that is NOT the Admin who is the owner of the blog.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If required please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

Hi again!
I now tried to recover the account, but I can’t find either the transaction ID, the activation URL or the two factor authentication codes. All i got is a URL from 2012 for changing admin e-mail: http://aknorge.wordpress.com/wp-admin/adminemail/aa4f33ae46cb20a5acec70b876f80d47/
Will that be enough?

Thank you for this thread: I hadn’t found this one because the search engine kept sending me to the wordpress.org forums.
I have exactly the same problem. The thing is, I only have three email addresses, and those three are the “official” admin ones. I think my account might have been hacked. Because I cannot, for the life of me, remember any other email account with which I might have opened a wordpress blog.

@aktrondelag
Where you able to submit the form successfully?@doublegart
Hi,
Your issue might be a totally different thing. Can you open a new thread here so we can troubleshoot it better? It’s easier to keep track of it when it’s in a separate thread. You can use this link:

OK, sorry to be bothering in here, I’ve tried to edit my previous comment to avoid “bumping”, but I couldn’t.
I’ve used the links Timethief provided (thank you!) and it seems I’m qualified as “contributor” and “author” in my primary blogs, but I do not qualify as administrator in any of them.
Out of curiosity, I clicked in the option “Post by email”, to see if by any chance, I had opened any of the blogs with a different, long-time forgotten email account.
The accounts that have appared there are not only known to me, but look absolutely suspicious of spamming.
The problem right now is, Support is closed until September the 23rd. ¡Argh! My bad luck.
At least now I think what it is. Thank you for the help.

Oh, honeysilvas, sorry, I didn’t see your answer until I sent the previous one.
I did start a new thread, it went down. But I think the problem is the same.
All the dashboards in all my blogs for both users gplusg and doublegart are NOT admin dashboards: I’ve been reduced to either author or contributor. It’s not that I entered with a different email account: the username and account were correct. I have been reading other threads in wordpress.org forums, and though I might be wrong because I’m no programmer, I have a strong suspicion that my accounts were hacked.
Do you still think I should open another thread?
-
@doublegart
Please create your own thread here so I can answer you.

@aktrondelag
You should be able to submit the account recovery form even with incomplete information. Just try to answer as best you can and staff will get back to you. -
I just created my own thread, honeysilvas. I hope it’s well written and clear. Thank you for everything.
