How can I get back payment for WordPress for a site i now can't use?
-
Dear WordPress. I tried to set up a website called ps-humanitas. I set it up but still had problems so passed it over to a computer expert. These were the details I sent him: Username: ThomJ
Password: The password you chose during installation.
Log in here: http://ps-humanitas.co.uk.intern/wp-login.phpBut he can’t get into the site using that password I sent him which was [redacted] I’ve tried changing the password but now WordPress tells me the user name is rossendale organic (which I didn’t in any way want)and when I apply my new changed password that won’t work either . What can I do? Also by a mistake I set up a more expensive site I didn’t want either and WordPress charged me £84. The charge is labelled as [redacted]. Can I neutralize that and get the money back? I’d really like that money back so we can start again with a clean sheet. Would be grateful for any help. Thomas Jackson
Site: https://rossendaleorganic.wordpress.com.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
Hi Thomas,
So, it does look like you have another WordPress.com account that your site is under. Since we are in a public forum, I redacted the transaction ID and password you provided in your post, but the transaction id you provided confirms ownership. The site is under the WordPress.com account with the username
thomjgardener. Do you remember the login credentials to that account or have access to the email connected to the account? If so, you could reset the password and regain access that way.You should be able to gain access to the dashboard via ps-humanitas.co.uk/wp-admin.
With the confirmation of the transaction ID, I can process the refund for you, but would you still want a refund if you are able to regain access to the account? So that we are on the same page, once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. So, it would be preferable to regain access to your current account and continue to use the domain there OR transfer the domain to another account.
If the plan is too expensive, I can downgrade you from the Premium to the Personal Plan (difference of $48) or refund everything but the domain. Otherwise, let me know if you still want to proceed with domain cancellation and I’ll take care of that for you.
Thanks,
-
