How can I get featured image in theme structure without "uncategorized"?

  • Unknown's avatar

I use theme structure (Organic Themes). Featured image is working fine – but only as long as I activate the category “uncategorized”. I can add additional categories. But if I deactivate the category “uncategorized” the featured image is not shown at the front page.
As I can replikate this and there is no hint at the instructions I think this could be a bug. Organic says they are not responsible für the wordpress.com version. Would be great if you can help me.

In Appearance → Theme Options you can set a Featured Category. By selecting one of your blog categories here you can restrict what gets featured in your featured post area. If you choose the “fashion” category, for example, only the latest post from that category will appear at the top of the home page. It’s a great way to take a little more control over the home page of your site. The image that appears there is up to you. You can select the image by choosing a Featured Image. We have some great information about Featured Images in our support documentation.

Also check, on that page, that you have checked the “Show featured images on single posts” option.

Theme Options you can set a Featured Category.

Thanks – it works! Just set on “none: use the most recent post”.

We have some great information about Featured Images in our support documentation.

But not the (needed) information above ;).

Also check, on that page, that you have checked the “Show featured images on single posts” option.

If I activate this the image is shown on top of the blogposting (don´t like this).

Thanks a lot for your help.
