How can I get HMTL on my wordpress.com site?
-
Hello. I’m trying to install Google Analytics and Mailchimp into my blog but am having trouble using the ‘Text’ widget, which is supposed to support HTML. Every time I publish the code comes out on the page looking jumbled and not performing the desired function. Is this because I’m using wordpress.com and not .org? If this would allow plugins which could make this work then I’m thinking about switching over. Is this possible?
Thanks. Galileo Russell.

Hi Galileo,
Plain HTML will work in a Text widget, but not HTML that includes any code that’s not permitted here:
CodeGoogle Analytics can’t be used here, but we have our own internal stats built in:
StatsFor Mailchimp, you could use a Contact Form for users to sign up for your newsletter, and then send it directly from Mailchimp:

Contact FormWe also have built in blog subscriptions:
My FollowersIf these solutions won’t work and you need to move to WordPress.org, you can do that. To move your blog to a self-hosted site, you’ll first need to obtain web hosting. We have some recommendations here:
