How can I get Messages under feedback to comments?

  some comments meant for guest book are being saved under “feedback” and doesn’t appear on the site I get email notifications that someone has left comment on guest book but I have to dig through the wordpress tools to see it has been saved under Feedback/messages.please help

  Hi there – You are using a contact form for your Guestbook page. Contact forms don’t display the feedback on the blog. They’re meant to let your readers contact you without your having to post your email address publicly:

  We do have a few wedding-specific themes that have a special Guestbook feature:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/wedding-website/#guestbook

  You might try switching to one of those themes:
  http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forever/
  http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/ever-after/
  http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/lovebirds/

  If you want to keep using Highwind, you could remove the contact form from that page, and instead post something like “To sign our Guest Book, please leave a comment below!”

  Then people can just comment on the page, so their comments appear publicly.

  Hi there thanks very much for the tips it was really helpful. Please I would like to know if I switch to one of the themes you recommended is it then possible for me to transfer all the data including comments made from the current theme to the new one? I think I will have to switch because I prefer comments to be seen publicly . It’s ok because I need to approve them before they appear public.

  Preferably will like to use the love bird guest book template but how can I replace it with the current template and how can I transfer comments left on the current guest book to the new guest book including those that were saved under feedback.

  Hi Cynthia – All of your content will stay exactly the same. It’s only your template that will change. But note that any comments will stay comments (on the same pages/posts) and any submitted contact form feedback will stay submitted contact form feedback. There’s no way to get those things to migrate over to the guest book feature on the new theme.

  But going forward, any visitors can leave messages on the guest book page.
