How can I get my domain back?

    I have canceled the premium plan with a domain. I would like to use that domain again as soon as possible. Is there a way I can get the same domain back soon with the premium plan?

    Hi there,

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.

    If you wanted to use that domain with a different WordPress.com site, you could have just contacted support to move your plan to a different site, and you could have moved the domain yourself.

    If you still want to use it with WordPress.com, please buy a new plan for your new site, and let me know once you’ve done that. Then I can restore the domain to your account.

    Else the domain should be released by the end of the week, at which point you should be able to register it somewhere else instead.
