how can i get my domain from redemption

    Hi my domian name wherenwear.me has expired. How can I renew the domain name ? it seems to be in the redemption phase, how do i pay the amount which i read about online and then claim the domain name again? Please help

    Yes, your domain appears to be in the redemption period. There will be an additional $80 fee imposed by the registrar if the domain is able to be recovered. If you wish to proceed, add “modlook” to the tags of this forum thread and a staff member will be around to assist.

    Hi there,

    Correct – I checked with our registrar and wherenwear.me is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

    Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
    the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.

    Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

    I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.

    I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore wherenwear.me to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

    You need to start a new thread for this request. No one is likely to check this thread now that the person who started it got her problem fixed.

    Be sure to subscribe to the thread you start (click on “notify me of followup posts via email before you submit it) and tag it “modlook” — add that tag over on the right side in the little window for tags. The modlook tag signals staff to take a look at your request, as I don’t think volunteers can help you with this.
