How can I get my featured image to post to facebook?
-
My header photo keeps posting to my facebook page instead of my featured image. It doesn’t do it all the time but most of the time.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read these tips http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicize
We have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.

Whenever you post a link, Facebook “guesses” which image to use as the thumbnail, and it usually takes the most prominent picture on the page.
One way to “force” Facebook to pick the correct picture, is to put some HTML code in the header of your site. However, with a WordPress.com site, you won’t have control over that unfortunately.
Though, whenever you paste the URL in your FB status box, at the top right of the thumbnail image there are arrows that let you cycle through the images on the page, and pick the one you want.

It’s very frustrating because mine is a photo blog and I normally schedule my posts. But from what I have read here there is not a damn thing I can do but wait for facebook to undo whatever they did. Yes, it’s a facebook problem. Twitter is fine.

Yes, FaceBook is frustrating with a “mind” of its own. I used to write a blog with most articles describing how to make something. (Stupid) FaceBook would contradictorily choose some intermediate step which made no sense as a stand-alone-representative image about my post.
Note, I did not schedule posts.
Of course I got tired of seeing a picture of where to put the glue on parts from the middle of the process—and it (FB) never chose featured images, and rarely 1st images. So I’d write my post, then copy/paste it to TextEdit, and finally write a short excerpt with only one image. FB had only once choice for the image, and it would publisize within one minute. I’d then go back and paste the whole text into the published post and update.
I know lots of folks use FaceBook, but I’ve never figured out how it works or why people bother with it. Even the adverts you are supposed to look at are irrelevant to anything! Please understand that this is a rant, my opinion only, and your experience may differ…
