How can I get my photos to display as I want / had previously?

    Hi. I only started learning WordPress last week so don’t know much.
    I uploaded photos which displayed as thumbnails and when clicked on, a larger window opened with photo title etc – which I was happy with.
    However, I had problems with WordPress resizing some of my photos so I decided to discard the page and start again. I removed all photos from the library, resized them elsewhere and uploaded again. Now, the photos are showing in one single row and when they are clicked on, they open in another window but without any title or other info. Please could you tell me what I’m doing wrong.
